‎The Honourable lawmaker representing Bende North Constituency, Abia State, Hon. Ibekwe Nnamdi Chimdi, at the plenary session yesterday, delivered a powerful appeal that resonated deeply across the House. He drew attention to the distressing attacks on property owned by Igbo indigenes in Lagos State, urging the House to call on the President and National Assembly to act swiftly in restoring peace and preventing further destruction. Hon. Ibekwe emphasised the urgency of safeguarding the investments and homes of citizens, especially Igbo indigenes in the commercial city.

‎Beyond this urgent call, he exhorted the South Eastern Governor to emulate the inspiring example set by Governor Dr. Alex Chioma Otti. He applauded Governor Otti’s unwavering commitment to creating a nurturing environment for Igbo investors—an environment that encourages them to channel prosperity back to their homeland. This, he argued, was essential for driving sustainable growth and economic renewal throughout the region.

‎In a heartfelt tribute, Hon. Ibekwe also lauded Governor Otti’s transformative leadership, particularly highlighting His Excellency's prompt attention to the long-neglected Alayi-Item-Nkporo Road. He recounted how relentless erosion had ravaged the road. He praised his Excellency for responding without hesitation, ensuring immediate action, and today, restoration work is well underway, promising to reconnect communities and revive local commerce.

‎Through his words and actions, Hon. Ibekwe reaffirmed his dedication to both defending the rights of his people beyond the state borders and championing infrastructural development at home—a true testament to servant leadership in action.
